Pyaar ki lakeer .. Hindi prem kavita by Sonal Singh
Bas pyar ki hi lakeer hai,
Koi kayde ka ghera nahi hai,
Vo mera ho ke bhi ab tak mera nahi hai.
Waqt bitana sang uske,
Lagbhag se aasaan ho gaya.
Tasveer ko gale lagaana usey,
Milne ke samaan ho gaya.
Majboor hai vo zara sa,
Koi dhokebaaz nahi,
Hota hai jo mehsus mujhe,
Uspe usey bhi naaz nahi,
Chubhti hai meri baatein jab,
Samjhta hai mujhe,
Vo mera ho ke bhi ab tak mera nahi hai.
Zimmedariyaan jo hain so nibhaani toh padengi,
Ye chhoti chhoti takleefein bhulaani toh padengi.
Zindagi pe uske bas mera haq toh nahi,
Jo chehre hain duniya uski, unpe muskuraahat laani toh padengi.
Chand ki chamak hai bas, abhi savera nahi hai,
Bas pyar ki hi lakeer hai,
Koi kayde ka ghera nahi hai.
Vo mera ho ke bhi ab tak mera nahi hai.
Thoda thak sa gaya hai abhi ruka nahi hai,
Usoolon se apne vo jhuka nahi hai.
Uski aankhein btati hain ki ye majburi hai uski, koi bahana nahi hai,
Saath kab ho payenge hum iska thikana nahi hai.
Kuchh natkhat hun main bhi, kuchh vo bhi hai bachon sa,
Itni jaldi iss bachpane ko gawaana nahi hai.
Dil par lekin koi kaabu koi pehra nahi hai,
Bas pyar ki hi lakeer hai,
Koi kayde ka ghera nahi hai,
Vo mera ho ke bhi ab tak mera nahi hai.
Thodi si bechani si ho jaati hai aksar,
Akele mein ek soch thapthapaati hai aksar,
Vo mera ho ke bhi ab tak mera nahi hai..
Bas pyar ki hi lakeer hai,
Koi kayde ka ghera nahi hai,
Vo mera ho ke bhi ab tak mera nahi hai.

Central idea:-
After a certain period of time when a relationship becomes stagnant, a feeling of impatience creeps within either both or anyone of the partners. There is frustration that develops with the situation. It is basically the phase between being in a relationship and committing to each other or getting married. Anyone who is in a serious relationship would not like to be kept hanging around without any assurance given to them.
The poem above, brings out this feeling from the view point of a female who is in a relationship with her lover but says that he isn't completely her though he is her lover. There is no cage of regulations and restrictions but only a line of love that encircles the two of them.
She says that she spends time with her lover's photograph and feels his presence though not meeting him in person. She mentions the fact that he isn't cheating on her though is compelled to remain in the situation he is in not being able to give her all the time and care she deserves, and is therefore not happy too. Having understood her feelings and concerns he doesn't get bothered if ever she says something that is hurtful, as he knows that she is upset with their destiny and not him.
In order to cheer her up he says that the it's just the fog on the way and not darkness, thus telling her that their struggles aren't permanent and would end very soon.
The poet then tells us of the most important reasons that has put the two of them in the situation they are. She tells us about the responsibilities that her lover has, his family, and those who are completely dependent upon him for their caretaking. Therefore tells us that it is important for her to overlook the small problems and issues as her lover doesn't belong to only and only her. There are a lot of people who need him too. And therefore she sighs in a line saying that the moonlight that shines isn't the sign of a morning and her lover is yet to be her.
She later tells us that her lover though a bit tired but hasn't stopped from his way and his ethics are still the same. She can read his eyes which say that he is not making excuses. But then sadly, there is no clue still as to when are they going to be together. The poet although opens up with us about the mischievous and childish nature of the two of them which they would love to preserve for more time and would not want to lose them for the maturity that they would have to take up once they are together. But the heart isn't something that can be controlled she says, and thus their distance bothers her.
We now come to know of a few details about the hidden feelings of such difficult times. She too is a victim of overthinking when she is lonely and thus gets freaked out of the thought of losing him. She doesn't share it very often with him as she fears of breaking down and crying in front of her lover. But surprisingly, he understands all of it by himself and with a reassuring smile, takes away all her worries. Their relationship still stands amidst all obstacles and odds. But there is only one thing that bothers her that he is not completely her yet.
